Satomi Sugimoto is a Tokyo-based visual artist working primarily in sculpture and works on paper. Born in Fukuoka, Japan, she received her BFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York.
Her practice moves between three-dimensional form, drawing, and collage, with a sustained focus on structure, surface, and restraint. Through deliberate line, measured composition, and hand-built construction, she creates works that balance delicacy with underlying tension. She works from her studio in Tokyo.

Original sculptures and works on paper are available through Saatchi Art.

Artist Statement
I am a sculptor, drawing inspiration from the beauty of the human form, natural landscapes, and harmonious shapes. Since childhood, I have been captivated by the fundamental lines and forms that structure our world. My work is a personal exploration of balance and fluidity, rendered in clay, mixed media, and drawing. Each sculpture, drawing, or collage is a quiet invitation—a chance to pause, observe, and feel the subtle harmony in everyday beauty. In each piece, I hope to touch something universal—a quiet balance that invites wonder and stillness in everyday beauty.
